This Design Center was devised for Motorola as their European Consumer
Design Center. Located in a historic industrial site, this office
constituted the largest Design studio outside of the Motorola home
base in Chicago.
In order to respect the industrial shell and preserve the historic
buildings perimeter and ceiling, Studio Powers decision was to create
a simple, strong central element which contained all storage needs,
meeting and break areas, mechanical and electrical services and as
well as project areas. This micro-architecture was constructed in
steel, and clad in tinted ash veneered plywood.
Custom furniture and lighting elements were developed with Unifor,
Staverton and Flos.
